EXTRACTION
Getting to the files is probably the most important step to do, because without doing it you have no way of knowing what to change or make. Here is how to do it:
1 - drpack
A utility called 'drpack.exe' is required to gain access to the files. Download it here.
2 - base.x
Now you have drpack, you probably want to put it in it's own folder. Next we have to go to your Army Men RTS files. To get there, open My Computer and go into your 'Boot' drive where 'Program Files' should be. Then go to 3DO (the company that made AMRTS), then 'Army Men(R) - RTS', then in there should be a file called 'base.x'.
Copy that into the same folder as your drpack.exe that you downloaded earlier.

3 - Nearly there
Now we have to use a little command to make drpack do what we want it to do.
Here is how to make it.
1 - Open notepad or some text editor like that
2 - In a new file, type 'drpack.exe x base.x ' and then the full path to your folder containing everything.
2 (Explained) - drpack - This tells the command prompt what to run
x - This is the function that you want it to do, in our case extracting.
The next part is where the new files will be place, so you can add a bit on the end with a \ before it to make it create a new folder.
EXAMPLE
drpack.exe x base.x C:\Users\Bob\Army Men RTS\files
This would extract the files from base.x in the folder 'files'.
3 - Save as run.bat or something with .bat at the end, and change the 'Save as Type' option to 'All Types'.
4 - Double click this to run. It will take a minute and should close when done. It should look like this:

And that is it. Now that you have extracted your files, you can move onto the next section, which is where to put the new mod files you will make later.
